Gearbox

Gearbox

This gearbox originally was brought in with a slight wine and on disassembly was found to have a major problem with a broken pinion with some research the owner found a source for this 8/34 crown wheel and pinion at a similar cost to a 7/31 original unit. the 8/34 as can clearly be seen as far stronger and will suit his super torquey 2.7 E engine very well! The broken crown wheel and pinion is now completed and the new 8/34 set is in the car operating well to demonstrate the difference between them and why there were a few issues in the adjustment here is a photo of the 2 pinions, and Crown wheel and pinion sets. The original was a 7/31 ratio and the new is 8/34 making a difference in gearing of about 1%.
